Do you go to a weekly yoga, Zumba, cycling, or other exercise class? Why not ask your instructor if they would be interested in donating their time to your fundraiser? Find a time and day that works for them and charge an entry fee for the class. Make sure to tell all of your friends and family about the class!
Bowling Tournament
Love to bowl? Ask your local bowling alley if they would be willing to donate a few lanes for a night. Invite community members and charge a fee to enter the tournament.
Mini golf tournament
Discover your competitive side with a Mini Golf Tournament. Find a place nearby or get creative and set one up in your backyard.
Family fun
Movie night
Reach out to a local school or a generous movie theater to see if they’d be willing to donate their auditorium for a movie night. Charge admission for tickets and let attendees enjoy a fun evening for a great cause! Keep in mind we can list a theatre as a contributor to the event on the Foundation’s website.
Scavenger hunt
Organize a scavenger hunt in a local park, a neighborhood, or even across your town or city! Hide clues throughout the area and charge participants a fee to receive the first clue.
Car wash
Nothing has withstood the test of time like a good old car wash! Reach out to local stores, like Canadian Tire or Walmart, to see if they would be willing to donate a space and the necessary supplies. Promote the event around your community and invite local teens to participate as a way to get in their volunteer hours.
Foodies
Host a pancake breakfast or spaghetti dinner
A pancake breakfast can be done anywhere from your house, a school, or even a local diner. Charge a flat fee for all-you-can-eat pancakes and consider hosting it during maple syrup season to add a special touch. Another great option is to host a spaghetti dinner with garlic bread and see if a local baker would be willing to donate some desserts.
Restaurant night
Check with your local restaurant about hosting a fundraiser – many restaurants, like Boston Pizza, are willing to donate a portion of their proceeds to a good cause, especially when you help bring business to them. Ask around your favorite restaurants and see if they’ll participate. Invite your friends and have a fun night out for a cause!
Arts and culture
Trivia night
Everyone loves trivia! Have a trivia night and see if a local establishment will donate the space. This not only helps you raise money, it helps the establishment make money with food and drink sales!
Art auction
Talk to local artists and see if they’d be willing to donate a piece to an art auction, or get creative and make your own piece of art to sell!. This not only helps you fundraise, but it puts the artist’s name out into the community.
