Join us in raising $200,000 to advance research on issues that matter most to our community. Fonds Sanâa and Richard will match donations up to a maximum of $50,000.
Walk and Rolls help our foundation build awareness of GBS, CIDP, MMN and variants in their communities and to have some fun! Through participation we are able to raise funds to support our programs that help patients and their families.
All funds raised are directed toward Canadian research that must benefit the GBS, CIDP, or MMN patient journey through work such as better diagnostics, treatments, rehabilitation protocols or perhaps a cure.
In 2007, we held our very first walk, originally called “Hike for GBS”, at the Kortright Centre, north of Toronto. By 2010, the organizing committee for the Woodstock, Ontario walk adopted a new name: ‘Walk, Run, or Roll’. Sound familiar?
Interest in Walk and Rolls began to really grow around 2018, following a Calgary walk held in honour of patient and liaison Laura Rutherford.
Since then, our Walk and Roll awareness fundraisers have gained a lot of traction, gathering more and more participants each year. We’d love to have you join this growing awareness movement at an upcoming Walk and Roll!
Walk and Rolls are fun events that bring the Foundation community together. Each year, members of our patient community organize walks in cities across Canada as a way to come together, raise awareness and generate funds for patient support. At these walks, Foundation members along with their friends and families, gather at designated locations to walk in solidarity. The primary goals of Walk and Rolls are to foster community and increase awareness about our rare conditions. For those who are comfortable, there is an opportunity to support the Foundation’s patient programs by inviting friends, family or colleagues to join the walk or to make a donation
Signing up is easy! Just visit our events page and select the walk that you’d like to participate in. This will take you to our Walk and Roll sign-up page where you can register as an individual as well as form a team or join a team.
Alternatively, you can register on the day of the walk. Each walk sets up early to accommodate on-the-day registrations. Registration is free of charge.
Walking with friends, family and colleagues is not just a great way to raise awareness, it is also lots of fun! If you’d like to create a team, start by registering as an Individual. After registering, you can then form a team and invite your network to join you.
Crowd Change, the registration platform, allows you to invite contacts directly from your email list and share your participation across social media during registration. You’ll also receive a unique link to share within your network to help raise funds.
The Foundation has created tools that can help you reach out to your network and invite them to support your team. Check out our resources section above.
Donating is simple and greatly appreciated. Head over to our Walk and Roll page and choose the walk you wish to support. Once on the walk’s website portal, click the “Donate” button. Every contribution makes a difference, and we are deeply thankful for your support!
It has to do with the size of the picture. You may need to use an application such as Photoshop, or adjust the size on your Apple device in order to make the picture change its orientation. If you are not able to get this to work, please let us know.
