About

Since its establishment as a registered Canadian charity in 2003, the GBS/CIDP Foundation of Canada  has been dedicated to advancing research and enhancing patient care for those affected by GBS, CIDP, MMN and their variants.

Committed to our vision that no patient or family should face these conditions alone, we prioritize patient care. Our efforts include:

  • connecting patients with caring and dedicated volunteers
  • providing regular support group meetings
  • developing educational resources
  • and facilitating community gatherings at events.

In addition to this patient-to-patient support, the Foundation has proudly established a National Medical Advisory Board of neurologists specialized in the diagnosis and treatment of our conditions.

We are committed to cultivating relationships with experts in rehabilitation and support disciplines who understand the challenges facing our patients during and after recovery. Our current objective is to create a council of professionals that will help guide and educate patients on best practices in their disciplines.

We support Canadian research aimed at improving the diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of patients affected by GBS, CIDP, MMN and their variants. Our ultimate goal is to help pave the way to a cure.
